A Capstone AcademyNew Jersey's Interdistrict Public School Choice Program enables approved choice districts like Atlantic City High School, to enroll students who do not reside within their districts without cost to their parents. The program increases educational opportunities for students and their families by providing students with school options outside of their district of residence and giving parents the power to select a school program that best serves their child's individual needs.
The Atlantic City High School Choice Program: A Capstone Academy is proud to offer the Fine and Performing Arts Academy and the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Interdistrict Public School Choice Programs. The Fine and Performing Arts Academy includes Dance, Theater, TV Production, Radio, Visual Arts, and Music. All disciplines are housed in a state-of-the-art locations throughout the school. Our award winning accredited NJROTC program emphasizes citizenship and leadership development through hands-on experienced learning by instructors from the Navy and Marine Corps.
All students interested in applying for any of the available programs will be subject to a mandatory interview process. Students will be asked questions regarding their background and their future aspirations in the given discipline. Students interested in applying for the Music, Dance, Theater, TV Production and Radio programs will be required to audition. Students interested in Visual Arts will also submit a portfolio that will be evaluated. All interviews, auditions and portfolio submissions will be scored based on rubrics.
