Atlantic City Public Schools Business Administrator Celeste Ricketts presented the Atlantic City Public Schools District budget on Thursday, May 2, 2024, in a special meeting. The total 2024-2025 budget is $285,751,681. This includes a $506,475 decrease in the local tax levy, which is the amount to be raised by taxes, and an increase in surplus from the previous year. -
Atlantic City High School Students Received Great News of Mayor Marty Small Sr. Scholarship Program

Once again, 100 scholarships of $10,000 each ($5,000 for the Fall 2024 semester and $5,000 for the Spring 2025 semester) will be available. The money comes from the Addressing Educational Disparity category of American Rescue Plan funds that The City of Atlantic City has received. -

Autism Awareness Month is an annual event that takes place every April to promote awareness, acceptance, and advocacy for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD is a developmental condition that affects how people communicate, interact and behave. ASD is not a disease or a defect, but a neurodiversity that makes people different and unique. Autism Awareness Month also encourages people to support the autism community, by donating, volunteering, or learning more about autism. -

The district celebrated International Social Emotional Learning Day on March 8, 2024. Some students took turns throwing mini-footballs into a plastic blow-up man receiver target. Others took their chance at making a shot in a carnival-style basketball ring with a red rubber kickball. Every activity was designed to help the students interact with one another respectfully. -

The Atlantic City Public Schools held its Elementary Sports Cheerleading Ultimate Showdown and Champion's March after the 5th and 6th grade boys basketball qualifying round on Saturday, March 2, at the Atlantic City High School gymnasium. The New York Avenue School Knights won the Champion's March portion of the cheerleading competition. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School Complex Tigers took first place in the ultimate showdown and the school's basketball team secured the number one seed in the upcoming tournament on March 16, 2024. -
