Ms. Nicole Williams, Principal

It is with extreme honor that I now serve as Principal of Sovereign Avenue School. I have been in education for over 15 years where I have served as a teacher, literacy coach, teacher coordinator, and assistant principal. One of my main goals as a Principal is to maintain a safe and loving school community for all stakeholders. My philosophy on education is that  every child can learn and that they deserve various learning opportunities that support academic, social, and emotional growth.  As a school community we must continue to work together to support each other in pursuing excellence. 

I am committed to open communication and being available for parents, community members, and stakeholders. We are a team working together to produce productive members of society. As principal, I take my responsibilities very seriously and I will always work in the best interest of my students. I am dedicated to the staff and will provide support in any capacity. Lastly, please trust that I will remain committed to the vision and mission of both Sovereign Avenue School and the Atlantic City Public Schools District. 

Ms. Bonnie Lynch, Vice Principal

It is with pride and excitement to introduce myself as the Vice Principal at Sovereign Avenue School.  I am honored to be in this position and am looking forward to assisting Ms.Nicole Williams in making this an outstanding school year.  I am so fortunate to be working with dedicated, innovative, creative, and caring staff members, parents and students. Everyday will be an adventure filled with learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom that will provide experiences to help our students grow academically, emotionally, and socially in order to prepare them for the big, bright future that lies ahead of them.

As an educator in this district for 21 years, I have worked in a variety of capacities including  teacher, interventionist, coach and guidance counselor. I believe learning occurs everyday and is a lifelong process. This belief is not limited to our students but in fact is to be exemplified and modeled by our staff as well. 

As your Vice Principal, my mission is to empower our students to become productive citizens in their pursuit of academic excellence. Our school motto is “Smarter and Stronger” which conveys the importance of academic excellence and perseverance. Open communication and collaboration are the foundation of creating an atmosphere conducive to learning. Teachers, support staff, parents, students and the entire school community need to work together in our common goal of making this school year successful for every student that enters Sovereign Avenue school doors. I am eager to become part of this fantastic School Community and always remember, “The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you” BB King.
